WEEKLY CLASSROM AND HANDS ON

Mandatory classroom and hands on training is held every Tuesday night. Each night trainees progress through their coursework and required skills to complete FF I and FF II through the State Firemen's and Firemarshals' Association of Texas.

QUARTERLY LIVE FIRE TRAINING

EVFD trains 1 Saturday per quarter at a live fire training facility. All live fire training is mandatory and trainees will learn invaluable knowledge and skills when working a live fire scene.

ONE ON ONE INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

During standby shifts, instructors and active firefighters work with trainees to further expand their knowledge and skills. We have ten certified instructors to assist in this process as well as many experienced firefighters.

features

Be Active

Volunteers are required to sign up for weekly shifts in addition to their weekly training with a combined minimum of 24 hours per month.

features

Be Strong

Being a firefighter is very labor intensive. All Volunteers must be physically able to perform every task.

features

Be Brave

When there are fires and explosions, most people flee and run in the opposite direction. Firefighters, however, go towards them. When disaster strikes, firefighters are one of the first officials to reach the scene. Even in medical emergencies, firefighters are responding to the call.
