EVFD is now accepting applications through November 26th.
If selected, you will be a part of the 2019 trainee class starting this January!
Trainees meet every Tuesday night a 7PM for our 6 month trainee program. There you will go through firefighter 1 lectures and tests as well as meet on Saturday mornings for hands on training. All eligible trainees will complete live-burn training at the end of the 6 month program to become a probationary firefighter where they will complete firefighter 2 training.
All Edgecliff Village firefighters are required to participate in Tuesday night training and volunteer for at least 1 shift every week for a total of no less than 24 hours a month.

Hiring Process Steps:
- A background check will be performed on all eligible candidates.
- Candidates will meet for a panel interview
- if selected, candidates will meet for 3 trial Tuesdays where they will be evaluated by active firefighters
- At the end of the 3 trial Tuesdays, the department will have a final vote on the candidates for acceptance to the trainee program
